Your data stays yours
Whenever possible, your data stays on your device. Deleting really means deleting. We also proactively remove stale public data and unused user accounts when they are no longer needed.

We do not want to know who you are. We do not care what you like. You see the content that is current — no more and no less.
Views, comments, and likes do not make a message more visible in MessageDrop. Visibility is not driven by popularity, but by the place and its context.
You do not have to think about which content gets the most reach. That leaves more room for what you actually want to share. And if text is not enough, you can place your Pinterest, YouTube, or TikTok content on our map exactly where it happened.
Follow the places that matter to you: your home, your favorite bar, or your vacation spot. Get notified when new messages appear there and add important information yourself.
Places can also show helpful extra context like weather, air quality, and experiences nearby. That makes the map a more useful starting point for orientation and exploration.
The easiest way to connect with other users is in real life, for example over a coffee, by scanning the connect QR code. It also works online, but you should already know each other. Private communication is transmitted encrypted and signed. The keys are generated on your device, and the private keys never leave it.
You can give every user who writes public messages a profile of your own. It is only visible to you and helps you recognize when messages come from the same user. What image other people have of you? You will probably never know.
For private communication with people you really know.
Less reach pressure. More room for the content you actually want to share.
For the places that matter to you and the context around them.
Where is my favorite food truck today? Is there a discount code at the café around the corner? What is the next event at the concert hall in my city? And if I miss the last train — can I still find a hotel nearby? These are exactly the kinds of place-based questions we want MessageDrop to answer even better in the future.
We are planning a feature that helps you plan your next trip in the best possible way: when to go, where to stay, which hotel fits, what sights to visit, which events are happening, and how prices and tickets look — all in one app.
